With a love of dealing with people, the joy of helping someone feel good about themselves and a flare for fashion, Nancy and Bruce Lehtman established Distinctions in Fashion in 1988. Since then, the store has thrived in Westgate Shopping Center in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Distinctions goes far beyond department stores in its offering of the latest fashions in evening dresses and sportswear; its customer service is unequal.

An office in New York minutes away from the garment district enables the Lehtmans to provide the latest in fashion. The couple frequently visits New York to hand select merchandise. They have become so familiar with the various designers they know what designer’s line will fit which body type.

Between buying trips, Distinction’s customers can still boast that they have a personal shopper directly in New York’s garment district. Any of their many customers can request a particular item. The Lehtmans place a call to their New York office and a buyer is sent directly to the garment district to search for the exact item.

Not sure how to round-out your wardrobe? What’s in, what’s out and what should you add? Not a problem. Upon special request, Nancy has visited clients at home and gone through their wardrobe advising what to keep and what to add.

Listening to their customers is vital part of the Lehtman’s success. Each year Nancy polls various high school girls on their likes and dislikes in prom fashion. Armed with this information on her buying trips, Nancy finds the dresses and outfits that appeal to her clients.

Providing you with a complete look is the Lehtman’s ultimate goal. Recommendations on additional accessories are just part of their overall service. If you need more help than that, Nancy has been known to accompany clients to shoe stores to help select the perfect shoe for a special occasion.

Tremendous customer service and beautiful clothes are only a part of the Lehtman’s mission. They continually give back to the community. Some of their philanthropic involvement includes activities with St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis and the Arts and Education Council. Nancy and Bruce also participate in charity fashion shows such as Friends of Kids with Cancer, Salvation Army and Cardinal Glennon. Many of their clients are involved in other philanthropic activities in which the Lehtmans take part.
